Primitive Christianity: Why the First Four Centuries of the Church Matter

New! Thursday evenings beginning May 4, 2023!

John Wesley liked to refer to the early centuries of the church as “Primitive Christianity.” He didn’t mean the term “primitive” as a put-down but rather to signal that that era is especially foundational for the shaping of the church we know - “primitive” as in “prime.” Most Christians today know very little about this period of time, who the leaders were, what the challenges were, and how they continue to guide us today.

For the next few weeks we will take some core samples of this fertile ground for our faith, get to know some of these ancestors and how our Lord worked through them, their times, and their circumstances and relationships to build well on the scriptural foundation. We will understand ourselves better for the effort.
